My Research Focus

I am currently pursuing my PhD at Laurentian University under the guidance of Dr. Kerry McGannon. My research focuses on elite athlete motherhood and media narratives, reflecting my deep-rooted passion for advancing gender equity—specifically for elite women athletes in Canada.

As a 2x Olympic rower, I bring a unique perspective to my work, shaped by firsthand experience within the Canadian sport system and a keen awareness of the inequities that persist. Through my research and lived experience, I aim to foster meaningful change for women in sport.

  • I’m currently undergoing a media analysis of media around Helen Glover at the 2024 Olympic Games.

  • My thesis has yet to be determined but will focus on media stories around elite athlete motherhood

  • I approach my work with an intersectional feminist perspective, with the goal of furthering gender equity through both awareness and tangible actions.
